Our house was founded in 2018 following a clear observation, concerning riding saddles, we could not find a compromise between comfort, good value for money and aesthetics. It is therefore natural that we decided to create a saddle in our image.

Originally, we are two passionate competitive riders. We had a very clear idea of what we wanted. It is quite natural that we turned to the best craftsmen to build this project.

We know all too well the harm that an improperly adjusted saddle can cause. From simple discomfort to great discomfort leading to injury, an improper saddle is to be avoided.

Our horses are athletes who, although they are not able to speak, know how to talk to us. In our careers, we have known too many horses to suffer riding because of their equipment, sometimes from the most prestigious houses. 

For our horses and for yours, we wish nothing but the best.

The quality of the materials

When purchasing a saddle, the materials are important to consider. 

Not all materials are equal and all have a specific use. 

French leather

Arion saddles, but also bridles, girths and our other accessories are made of 100% French leather. It is tanned in a vegetable way by ecological conscience. 

For the design and the manufacture of our saddles, we privilege the made-to-measure. The same goes for the type of leather we use. Whether it is full grain leather, grained leather or nubuck, our leather pieces respect the same aesthetic and quality requirements. 

For our custom or half-measure saddles, the only limit is that of your imagination since it is up to you to select the finishes that best suit you.

Durable and resistant

Among saddlers, leather has long been a preferred material. Not only very popular for its aesthetics, it is also its robustness that seduces riders. 

It is a natural, noble and prestigious material that is perfectly suited to our sport. Indeed, quality leather is durable, resistant to shocks, repeated abrasions, bad weather and sun. 

It's not for nothing that many of the parts of our upholstery are made of leather. 

However, resistant does not mean unbreakable. It is necessary, even essential, to maintain your leather equipment. In addition to cleaning, greasing and polishing the leather will extend its life. 

Ideally, you should clean your leathers after each session. The complete maintenance with greasing can be done monthly. If you are unsure about the type of leather of your saddle, our experts are at your disposal.

You might think it's easier to turn to mass-produced saddles if you want to get your gear quickly. 

This is absolutely true, and fortunately so, because you will have to return more often.

The French saddlery Arion manufactures custom-made and handmade high-end riding saddles. Before making them, it is necessary to know you. 

When you make the decision to invest in one of our saddles, you first talk to one of our experts. The purpose of this exchange is to confirm your needs in terms of durability, practice or requirements. This appointment also serves to take measurements of you and your horse. Whether you choose a custom-made saddle or a half-measure saddle, our goal is that the saddle be so comfortable that it is forgotten. 

After this step, your wishes are transmitted to our workshop and your saddle will soon be on your horse's back.

Once your saddle is delivered, our work does not stop there. We do the first tests together and check with you that everything is in accordance with your expectations. 

Once everything is good, we remain at your disposal at any time to discuss your new material.

As a French saddler, we are committed to working with French craftsmen. In addition to making exceptional saddles, our workshop also knows how to repair them. 

So, if after several months of use your saddle shows signs of wear, we can take it back and have it repaired.
