From local events to international level CSO 2021 competitions, focus on the famous French competitions to come.

Local pro contests

While the FFE Top 7 and the Grand National have yet to announce the dates of their various events, it is ideal to look at the lesser known competitions for this coming year.
Organized by local or larger riding clubs, French show jumping events attract a large audience.
In 2021, Villers-Vicomte will once again hold its show jumping events from February 23 to 28. Still in the Oise region and only one week later, it is the turn of the CHS du Vexin français to organize its own show jumping events. From March 3 to 5 in Fay-les-Étangs.

National and international show jumping competitions in France in 2021

The dates of the Global Champions Tour organized by Longines are not yet known. However, you will be able to attend the Master Pro de France! The events will take place as every year in Marnes la Coquette. From Thursday 22nd to Sunday 25th April 2021.
Counting for the French Jumping Championships, the Master Pro is one of the most expected show jumping competitions in 2021 for horse lovers.
Less well known than the Master Pro, but just as eagerly awaited, are the international show jumping competitions in Sancourt (Nord) and Le Touquet Paris-Plage (Pas-de-Calais ), where the best riders in Europe will compete. The first competition will take place from April 8 to 11. The second will take place a month later from May 5 to 9.

Which FEI show jumping events will be maintained in 2021?

The Fédération d'Équitation Internationale, often abbreviated to FEI, is also organizing two of the biggest show jumping competitions in 2021! The Jumping World Cup and the Jumping Nations Cup .
While they are still on the schedule for 2021, let's see what these competitions are and when they will take place!

The Jumping World Cup

The FEI Jumping World Cup is expected to take place in 2021, although there are some uncertainties about the dates and events. The competition will start in New Zealand and more precisely in Dannevirke, on January 10th. Then a week later, in Waitemata, on January 17, 2021.
In total, 86 rounds of the World Cup will take place throughout 2021. The events will end in Abu Dhabi on December 30, 2021 and January 1, 2022.
In fact, 2021 will count as a double year since the 2020 World Cup has been cancelled. To note, the events will take place in France, and more precisely in Lyon, from October 27 to 31!

The Jumping Nations Cup

The FEI Jumping Nations Cup, also sponsored by Longines, will see the nations of the world compete throughout 2021.
Created in 1909, this equestrian show jumping competition is a must for any equestrian enthusiast.
Divided into 19 events that take place all over the world, this CSO 2021 competition stops twice in France. From May 6 to 9, it is in Le Touquet, as we have seen, that the competition will rage. From May 13 to 16, it will be the famous Jumping International de la Baule! It will see the best riders in the world compete under the national colors.

Olympic Games: the best show jumping competition 2021?

We almost forgot it, but the Tokyo Olympic Games, initially planned for 2020, have been postponed to the summer of 2021! During these Games, a show jumping event will take place, as usual.

Eventing show jumping

Because of the pandemic due to Covid-19, the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo have been postponed to the following year, exactly at the same dates for the moment.
On this occasion, show jumping will be present and the best male and female riders will represent their countries.
The first show jumping competition at the 2021 Olympic Games will be the all-around event, which will include a team show jumping event and an individual event.
They will take place on the same day: Monday, August 2, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. (local time, therefore UTC +9).

Individual and team events

In the Equestrian Park of the Olympic Site, the qualifying rounds for the individual show jumping event will be held on Tuesday, August 3 between 7:00 pm and 10:45 pm local time.
The following evening, Wednesday, August 4, 2021, you will be able to watch the show jumping final and the medal ceremony for this event.
On Friday, August 6, it will be the turn of the team show jumping qualification event to be held from 7:00 pm to 10:45 pm local time.
Then, on the last day of the Olympic Games, you will be able to admire the skills of the world's best riders in the team show jumping competition. The event will take place from 7:00 pm to 9:30 pm and the last medals of the Tokyo Olympic Games will be awarded (men and women together!)
